Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease in which the body doe not regualte blood sugars correctly. This can have a major impact on many systems in the body. The feet are affected by diabetes in a number of different ways.


Podiatrists play a crucial role in identifying & preventing diabetes related complications in the feet. If you have Diabetes it is recommended that you undergoe yearly foot checks and often routine upkeep provided by your Podiatrist.

These checks involve assesment of the circulatory and nervous systems of the feet. Your Podiatrist will also provide you with advice on how best to take care of your feet at home in order to prevent complications.
